The new Queens Of The Stone Age record came out at the end of August, and I was super excited. I was going to do an album review! I had gotten myself an advance copy of it, so I actually could have produced a review before the release date, just like a real rock and roll reviewer! (No, I don't have it on vinyl. I listen to it at work on the computer. The computer has one of those newfangled CD players.) But then the crushing oppression of school distracted me, and I didn't finish the review.
So even though this is not as timely as I would have liked, it is still an album released in 2002, reviewed by me in 2002, as opposed to an album released in 1978, reviewed by me in 2002. That is a step in an exciting new direction.
Anyway. The new Queens Of The Stone Age album. It rocks. Sometimes it rocks really hard. And sometimes it rocks extra much.
It has no low spots. Go buy it. Now! It has double axe attacks and so very much heavy goodness. And the hidden track sounds like it could be on Queen II and/or have a dwarf dancing around Stonehenge while it is playing.
Yes, that was the entire review. I don't really have anything else to say. What more do you need from me? I think the fact that I am recommending a current release should be enough to make you interested. Would it help you if I told you that the Pirate has this album? He does. He is also of the opinion that it rocks. Go buy it. Now!
